  • Overview

    Corrpro Canada, Inc. is looking for a part-time Drafter to join our team in Edmonton, AB. Under the direction of a Senior Drafter, perform two dimensional drafting of cathodic protection and AC mitigation systems using AutoCAD 2018.  Coordinating with multiple engineers, technicians and project managers both in person and through email (MS Outlook) and Smartsheet.

    Responsibilities

    • Interpret engineering and construction sketches and mockups for graphical intent.
    • Implement consistent style in preparing plan, section, elevation, and detail drawings.
    • Maintain a standard detail drawing file.
    • Update standard details as directed by supervisor or engineering manager.
    • Complete all drawings using high professional standards for clarity and neatness.
    • Review blueprints, sketches, and specifications related to drafting requirements.
    • Exercise judgment to determine essential information.
    • Utilize GIS tools for data analysis to support engineering.
    • Assist with database projections using GIS tools.
    • Scale drawings for accurate proportion and relationship among components.
    • Prepare CAD drawings to represent physical features of client facilities.
    • Support, implement the company document control system as well as support document control change.
    • Promote improvements to internal drafting standards as necessary to enhance quality of drawings
    • Review engineering blueprints and estimate quantities required for specific projects.
    • Ensure drafting equipment is routinely maintained.
    • Discuss requirements with engineering and construction staff.
    • Maintain all CAD equipment in good working order to prevent down time.
    • Work will include interoffice projects.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Profiecent with AutoCAD 2018 and MS Office, 
    • GIS experience is an asset,
    • Experience in the Engineering / Oil & Gas field is an asset,
    • Knowledge of Cathodic Protection and the ability to create LISP routine, would be considered an asset,
    • Excellent detail and thoroughness is critical,
    • Effective and strong communicator,
    • Highly motivated and able to complete drafting in a timely manner, and
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Part-time (16-20 hours/ week)
